The nations of the world are filled with a multitude of religions, many of which exalt their sacred texts as inspired by God. What is truth? What has God inspired?

God Himself made a bold claim, when He said “For I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times the things that are not yet done” Isaiah 46:9-10

No man can declare the end from the beginning, no man knows the future. This is a characteristic that belongs to God alone. I have sometimes wondered what to believe or what the truth is. After I learned that in ancient times God declared the rise and fall of nations in the pages of the Bible, I knew that I had found the book that bears the signature of God’s inspiration.

This book introduces you to a king and the dream that God gave him, and the man Daniel whom God gives the interpretation of that prophetic dream which reveals “The Rise and Fall of Nations” from 500 BC to the present day and onward into the future. My faith was increased in learning of this prophecy and it is my hope that in the reading of this book yours will be also.

Dan 2:1-4 And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams, wherewith his spirit was troubled, and his sleep brake from him. Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, for to shew the king his dreams. So they came and stood before the king. And the king said unto them, I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit was troubled to know the dream. Then spake the Chaldeans to the king in Syriack, O king, live for ever: tell thy servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation.

The king is asking his wise men for two things. What are these?

Dan 2:5 The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if ye will not make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a dunghill.

King Nebuchadnezzar was the ruler of Babylon. During his reign he controlled the entire then-known world. He was a very powerful man but possessed uncontrollable passions, and if he were to command “ye shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a dunghill,” then in an instant his desires would have been executed.

We note that Nebuchadnezzar wanted two very specific things: 1) to know his forgotten dream and 2) its interpretation. What he asked of his wise men was not unreasonable. Nebuchadnezzar’s wise men were on payroll in case of just such a mystic emergency.

Dan 2:6-7 But if ye shew the dream, and the interpretation thereof, ye shall receive of me gifts and rewards and great honour: therefore shew me the dream, and the interpretation thereof. They answered again and said, Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation of it.

The Babylonian wise men said, “If you tell us the dream, we’ll give you the interpretation.” Imagine them meeting together and coming to an agreement to make up an interpretation based on whatever dream was given and then provide counsel to the king. But the wise men of Babylon knew enough about psychology to immediately know that providing a fake account of the dream itself would be easily recognized by the king.

The king could see through their fakeness. Nebuchadnezzar demanded the dream first. If a man could tell the king his dream without being told it first, then the king would have strong evidence that such a man could provide the true interpretation.

Dan 2:8-11 The king answered and said, I know of certainty that ye would gain the time, because ye see the thing is gone from me.But if ye will not make known unto me the dream, there is but one decree for you: for ye have prepared lying and corrupt words to speak before me, till the time be changed: therefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that ye can shew me the interpretation thereof. The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is not a man upon the earth that can shew the king’s matter: therefore there is no king, lord, nor ruler, that asked such things at any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean. And it is a rare thing that the king requireth, and there is none other that can shew it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.

But wait a minute! These are wise men we’re talking about – the astrologers, soothsayers, and Chaldeans; the scientists, educators and men of renown. They claim to have contact with the gods, and here they tell the king, “You want us to tell you and then interpret your forgotten dream? This is impossible! No one can do this!” Their lives are on the line. They are trying to come up with any excuse to save themselves. What a horrible and hasty decree is this that the king has given! “Only the gods,” they exclaim, “are able to interpret a thing like this, and the gods are not going to help us because they don’t even dwell among us!

Important lesson: The wisdom of the world can never understand divine matters.

Dan 2:12-13 For this cause the king was angry and very furious, and commanded to destroy all the wise men of Babylon. And the decree went forth that the wise men should be slain; and they sought Daniel and his fellows to be slain.

The story continues. The king at this point gives up all faith in his wise men. He calls for the execution of all of them when he realizes that they are corrupt, dishonest, and seeking to provide the king a concocted answer. The death decree also applies to Daniel and his companions.

At this point Daniel, who apparently was not among the original group of wise men summoned by the king, requestes a meeting with the king to ask for more time to bring the matter to God for answers.

Let’s note what Daniel does.

Dan 2:17-18 Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions: That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.

Let us consider what God reveals to His servants the prophets.

Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

And what do prophets do? They prophesy! Daniel said, “I am going to pray to my God, the Creator of the heaven and the earth and the fountains of waters, because only He is able to reveal His secrets to His servants.”

Daniel and his friends pray to God. Then they go to sleep and Daniel has a revelation. God reveals king Nebuchadnezzar’s forgotten dream to Daniel. God also shows the interpretation. Then Daniel requests to be brought before the king. He is immediately brought in before the king of the world, the most powerful man on earth. Remember that all the wise men’s lives are on the line. If the king should be displeased with what Daniel says, all the wise men including Daniel and his friends will be executed.

Let us review Daniel’s discourse to the king.

Dan 2:26-27 The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, Art thou able to make known unto me the dream which I have seen, and the interpretation thereof? Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, shew unto the king;

Daniel first makes it very clear that the king’s request is an impossibility for man. Daniel, himself a wise man, explains to the king, “None of your servants…not even myself…can reveal this secret thing that you so desire to know.”

He continues…

Dan 2:28 But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these;

Whatever this dream is, it is dealing with history all the way up to “the latter days,” the end times, the end of the world. What we are studying right now is going to take us from the time of Babylon all the way to the end of the world. What a view God wants us to obtain here!

Dan 2:29-35 As for thee, O king, thy thoughts came into thy mind upon thy bed, what should come to pass hereafter: and he that revealeth secrets maketh known to thee what shall come to pass. But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living, but for their sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the king, and that thou mightest know the thoughts of thy heart.Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible. This image’s head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass,His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.

This is the dream that troubled the king.

Daniel begins to give the interpretation of the matter. Let’s break the interpretation down and build it back up. Let’s see what the Bible shows the interpretation to mean.

Dan 2:36-38 This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king.Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory. And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold.

Here Daniel explains that Babylon’s authority extends over the whole earth. The God of heaven had given Nebuchadnezzar a kingdom, power, strength and glory. Imagine the king’s ego swell during Daniel’s explanation. “That’s right! Yes, my kingdom is absolutely amazing!

But the image wasn’t all gold. After the head of gold we see the arms and chest of silver, the belly and thigh of brass, the iron legs and the feet of iron and clay.

Now here is an important question: Does the head of gold represent the king or the kingdom over which the king ruled?

It represents both the kingdom and its king! The head of gold is a symbol of the nation of Babylon. Daniel continues to give his interpretation in verse 39.

Dan 2:39 And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.

Clearly, the different metals of the image represent different kingdoms, not just different kings.

In verse 39 we see another characteristic of kingdoms represented by the metals of the image: they are world superpowers.

We just learned that the nation of Babylon is represented by the golden head of the image in Daniel 2. But the book of Daniel is not the only Bible book which presents Babylon as a golden city.

Isa 14:4 That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!

In the book of Jeremiah we also see this description:

Jer 51:7 Babylon hath been a golden cup in the LORD’S hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad.

Babylon represents the head of gold. But Daniel continues, explaining that “after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee.” In 538 BC, the great kingdom of Babylon was overthrown. Remember what comes after the head of gold? The arms and chest of silver. Who is this silver kingdom? The Bible has all the answers.

Dan 5:25-27 And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it. TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.

Let us quickly review the history of the end of Babylon. It is 538 BC and Belshazzar is the ruler of Babylon. He decides to take the holy vessels from God’s sanctuary. In open rebellion against God he uses these holy vessels for a massive drinking party. As his nobles are drinking out of these golden cups, he sees a supernatural hand writing on the palace wall.

Dan 5:28 PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.

Who? The Medes and Persians! The kingdom of Medo-Persia.

Dan 5:29-31 Then commanded Belshazzar, and they clothed Daniel with scarlet, and put a chain of gold about his neck, and made a proclamation concerning him, that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom. In that night was Belshazzar the king of the Chaldeans slain. And Darius the Median took the kingdom, being about threescore and two years old.

The Medes and the Persians conquered Babylon. They composed that kingdom inferior to Babylon. The interesting thing about Medo-Persia was that it was made of two peoples ruling together. This is why it was represented by two silver arms. And interestingly, Medo-Persia had a very extensive taxation system which required silver for tax payment. The inhabitants were not allowed to pay using any other currency. Historians have noted that Medo-Persia was known for its abundance of silver!

The book of Isaiah prophesied the fall of Babylon in Isaiah 44:26 going on into chapter 45.

Isa 44:26-28 That confirmeth the word of his servant, and performeth the counsel of his messengers; that saith to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be inhabited; and to the cities of Judah, Ye shall be built, and I will raise up the decayed places thereof:That saith to the deep, Be dry, and I will dry up thy rivers:That saith of Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid.

Isa 45:1-2 Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut; I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:

One hundred and fifty years before Cyrus was born God predicted the fall of Babylon to the armies of the Medes and Persians and called Cyrus by name. The sacred record tells us Cyrus would be the means for the fall of Babylon. A subduer of nations, he would loosen the loins of kings and God would render his enemy’s gates of brass useless. Now, was this prophecy fulfilled? Let us turn back to Daniel.

Dan 5:3-7 Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of the house of God which was at Jerusalem; and the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, drank in them. They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone. In the same hour came forth fingers of a man’s hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaister of the wall of the king’s palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote. Then the king’s countenance was changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees smote one against another. The king cried aloud to bring in the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers. And the king spake, and said to the wise men of Babylon, Whosoever shall read this writing, and shew me the interpretation thereof, shall be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold about his neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.

Here we have it. King Belshazzar, as we’ve just read, took the golden vessels from the sanctuary of God. He drank wine in them to magnify pagan gods, then suddenly saw this mysterious handwriting on the wall the dreadful words “MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.” Your kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and the Persians. Instantly the king’s mood changed. He was terrified. He knew that what he was doing was wrong. He was drinking and disrespecting the God of heavens. He very well knew his grandfather’s humiliating story about how the God of heaven had debased him to save him from pride. But Belshazzar had deliberately defied this God. Then he had seen the mysterious handwriting on his wall. He was so scared that his knees struck one against the other and his loins were loosed. In other words, the king wet his pants. And it had been prophesied that Cyrus would be a subduer of nations, and that he would lose the loins of kings and render the gates of brass useless.

But how did Cyrus render the gates of brass useless?

Babylon was situated on the river Euphrates. Its walls were built so broad and great that chariots were able to race around them. Historians record the walls as being approximately 56 miles long and over 300 feet high. If the ancient city had ever been besieged, Babylon’s emergency food supply could have lasted 30 years. Because the river Euphrates flowed directly underneath the wall, the city’s water supply was assured as well. The city seemed impregnable. The size of Medo-Persia’s army was also quite small, comparatively speaking. It seemed there was no way that they could take on a nation like Babylon.

The city had 25 large brass gates on each side of the city – a hundred gates total. These protected the city from any foreign invaders. Because it was impossible for the Medes and Persians to take the city by force, they began their attack by going up the Euphrates and digging canals. They diverted the water flow of the Euphrates. They did this while Belshazzar’s party was in full swing. The river Euphrates dried up. Just like Isaiah prophesied of Cyrus. He dried up the river. It was so low that the Medo-Persian army could march right underneath Babylon’s brass gates. The river was about knee level or thigh level and the Medo-Persian army was able to wade in. In that very night, Belshazzar was slain without resistance. God rendered the brass gates utterly useless. And in 538 BC the head of gold was overthrown by another kingdom, inferior to it.

What kingdom ruled after Medo-Persia?

Now we are on to the belly and thighs of brass. What is this brazen nation that we’re going to be looking at? I know the Bible has the answer.

Dan 8:20-21 The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia. And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king.

The next kingdom following Medo-Persia is Greece. And again, how much do image kingdoms rule over?

Dan 2:39 And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.

Each metal of the image presents not just any kingdom or country or nation but rather consecutive world superpowers.

Interesting fact: Greece was represented as the belly and thighs of brass, and the Greeks were known for their heavy use of bronze. They made bronze weapons, bronze armor, bronze statutes and vessels. They were known for the famous torture technique, the Brazen Bull. Greece well fits the representation of the third kingdom of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream.

Now which kingdom comes after Greece? We look to the iron legs. What kingdom do they represent?

Dan 2:40 And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.

In order to find out who this iron kingdom is, we’re going to need to go to the New Testament. Look with me at who rules the world in the New Testament.

Luk 2:1

If Ceasar could tax the world, would it be fair to say he ruled the world? Of course! And if you don’t know history well enough to recognize the empire Ceasars reigned over, that’s OK. The Bible is very simple. Even a child can understand. The testimonies give light. They giveth understanding to the simple. So if you don’t know history very well, all you have to find out is who the Caesars are. Then you will know which kingdom was ruling the world when New Testament stories took place. Turn to Acts 11:28.

Act 11:28

So you see that Claudius is a Caesar. Claudius here rules the whole world. What nation does Claudius have authority over? In Acts 18:2 we find the answer.

Act 18:2

Now Claudius Caesar had the power to command all the Jews to depart from the nation of Rome. We learned earlier that whoever was the Caesar was the ruler of the world at the time. If Claudius Caesar was the ruler of Rome, Rome must have been the iron kingdom that ruled over all the earth. History confirms this. Rome is the iron nation of the image’s legs. And Rome separated into Eastern and Western Rome. This is typified by the image’s two legs.

What kingdom or kingdoms follow Rome? Let’s see what Daniel says.

Dan 2:41 And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.

So you see that the iron goes all the way down the legs and that it is mixed with the clay even down to the very toes. We know that the iron is the nation of Rome. So whatever the kingdom of the iron and clay is, it’s going to have the influence of Rome, represented by the iron mixed in with the clay. Roman rule is still around during the time period of the image’s feet and toes.

Now if you will notice, there are actually two types of clay being presented in verse 41. Let’s read the verse one more time so you can notice the two different clays.

Dan 2:41 And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.

Here you see potters’ clay and miry clay coming together. Once the potter’s clay is mixed with the iron, the iron turns it into miry clay. Now let’s see what exactly iron represents in the Bible.

Rev 2:26-27

Here we see the “rod of iron” associated with ruling over nations. Now, what type of power rules over nations? Would it be a political power? Or would it be a religious power? Is it civil authority which usually rules over nations? Or is it religious authority? It is civil power! So iron represents civil power in Bible prophecy. And you can see this again in Revelation 19:15.

Rev 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

Again, you see iron rules over the political powers. Iron represents state craft. Now what does clay represent in Bible prophecy?

Isa 64:8 But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.

Now who is speaking to the Lord here? God’s people! God’s people are saying “we are the clay.” So you see very clearly, clay in the Bible represents church craft. More specifically, “potter’s clay” represents God’s (the Potter’s) people…His pure, undefiled church. And we see this again in Jeremiah 18:6.

Jer 18:6 O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.

So you see, potter’s clay is God’s pure church. It’s God’s people. And in the time of the feet of iron and clay, we see displayed a mixture of church and state. Who would rule the world at the time of the end? A mixture of church and state would rule the world in the time of the end, according to the Bible.

Now what about the miry clay we saw? Many are not familiar with the word miry. So what does miry mean? I like to use my Bible to find definitions.

2Pe 2:20-22 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, […Who have escaped the pollutions of the world? God’s people, the church. True Christians have escaped the pollutions of the world. But the verse doesn’t stop here…] they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

So when a sow or pig gets clean, and immediately goes back to the mire and starts rolling around in it…that’s what mire is. What do pigs roll around in? They roll around in mud. Mire means mud. So when you see the feet of potter’s clay, miry clay and iron, you see church and state coming together with miry clay representing a muddy church, a dirty religion. Miry clay is dirty clay. And remember the Roman power, the iron, is mixed in. It is mixed with Christianity.

Now, what else is said about this mire in the Bible? In Psalms 40:2 we find David speaking.

Psa 40:2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

Now who is the Rock? 1 Corinthians 10:4 makes it very clear that the Rock is Christ. So Psalms 40:2 makes it clear one can’t be in the miry clay and established on Christ at the same time. So whatever the miry clay religion is in the image, it’s not founded on Jesus. So who primarily is represented by the feet of iron and clay? The Roman Catholic Church. This church is really a religious and a civil government mixed together. And the Bible prophesied its reign.

Dan 2:42 And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.

Iron and clay cannot thoroughly mix. These substances are never going to cling together. Such a mixture cannot be very strong. After each metal in Nebuchadezzar’s image there follows another metal that is inferior to it. In history, we find the world’s superpowers getting overthrown and replaced by ever less-glorious superpowers. Until we get to the feet. They are divided according to Daniel 2:41.

At the same time that the religious and political influence of papal Rome was rising, the kingdom of pagan Rome was falling apart. National apostasy is always followed by national ruin. How many toes does an average man have? Ten toes. Would it be safe to say that the prophetic image had ten toes as well? Did you know that the territory ruled by Western Rome was divided up among ten different barbarian tribes?Three of them were soon obliterated. We’ll learn about this in further studies. The other seven tribes of the ten remained, and these were the predecessors of the modern nations of Europe (i.e. France is the descendant of the Franks).

Dan 2:43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.

Even though the feet of iron and clay would begin divided, they would try to unite. They would try to become one nation again. But the Bible said clearly that “they shall not cleave one to another.” The Bible says it. It must be so. However, throughout the years some have tried to defy God and unite the nations of Europe. Men such as Napoleon and Hitler. But the Bible showed long before that these men’s ambitions were doomed to failure.

And after the feet of iron and clay, what kingdom is next to rise? And how long will it stand?

Dan 2:44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

A stone that was cut out without hands hits the image on its feet and the whole image is pulverized. And that stone which is not created by any man (being “cut out without hands”) becomes a great mountain, a great nation. It is the kingdom that rules forever.

What does the stone represent? Micah tells us the answer.

Mic 4:6-7 In that day, saith the LORD, will I assemble her that halteth, and I will gather her that is driven out, and her that I have afflicted; And I will make her that halted a remnant, and her that was cast far off a strong nation: and the LORD shall reign over them in mount Zion from henceforth, even for ever.

That stone cut out without hands, that rock that hit the image we know to be Christ. He will return to earth at the end of the world. His kingdom will take over the whole earth. His kingdom will never be overthrown by another. We see from prophecy that the very next event of world history will be the Second Coming of Christ. We are right now in the time period of the feet of iron and clay. God wants to show us today that the next thing to happen is Christ’s return to redeem his people!

Dan 2:45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.

The image’s head was made of fine gold…Thou…speaking to Nebuchadnezzar…art this head of gold. His breast and his arms were of silver; The Babylonian kingdom was divided and given to the Medes and the Persians. The image’s belly and thighs were of brass – the kingdom of Greece. His legs represented the iron Roman Empire. The mixture of iron and clay in the image’s feet represented the dividing up of the Roman Empire into territory presided over by barbarian tribes under the influence of the religio-political superpower of “Christian” Rome.

Dan 2:44-45 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.

The prophecy of Daniel 2 is a prophecy given especially for us who live in “the latter days” (Dan 2:28), the end of the world. According to the Bible, world history is now coming to a close. And Christ is going to set up a kingdom that is never going to be destroyed. Do you want to be in that kingdom? If you do please pray this prayer…

Dear heavenly Father, thank You for Your prophetic word. Thank You for guiding us in our studies and teaching us what it is that You want us to know. Thank You for making known to our hearts the desires that you have for us. Lord we know that our time here is short and we want to come closer to You. We want to learn more about You. And we pray for Your Holy Spirit to guide us in our studies, to convict us of sin, righteousness, and judgment. Please forgive us of our sins. We pray all these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.
